A 22-acre parcel of land in a prime Lennox Head position has sold for close to $15 million, more than doubling the previous record set for residential acreage in the town.
Selling agent Nick Bordin of Elders Lennox Head, said the exact price could not be revealed due to a confidentiality agreement, but that it was 'consistent with the price guide' of $14 - $15 million.
Listed in May, the parcel of land at 8 Byron Bay Rd has an existing five bedroom house, and takes in 360 degree views along the length of Seven Mile Beach from Lennox Point to Broken Head and beyond.
Owned by the Condon family, it was on the market for the first time in 57 years.
The property has a rural zoning, which means it can't be developed.
Mr Bordin, who was a co-agent with Elders' Graham Houston, said the buyer was from Sydney 'who knows the area quite well' and will use the property as a residence.
The sale price is more than double the previous record set for a residential acreage in Lennox Head - 48 Tobin Close, a 13 acre estate with approval to create an eco-tourism retreat, sold in April this year for $7 million.
