ENTRIES for the Darrel Chapman Fun Run are now open with the event to be held at Lismore on Sunday, August 29.
It raises vital funds to help Our Kids purchase paediatric equipment for our local hospitals.
This year there will also be a virtual event for those who may not be able to participate on the day or who would like to take part but live elsewhere.
"With the varied course we're aiming to include, encourage and champion everyone to walk or run and just have fun," Rebekka Battista, Our Kids Fundraising Coordinator said.
As part of the registration there is also an opportunity for people to donate, fundraise, or be sponsored to complete a particular distance.
Last year, the funds raised from the Darrel Chapman Fun Run, along with Shake it For Kids Function organised by Rowan and Erin Ozols, helped purchase a Baby Leo Humidicrib Crib worth $56,000.
"The Baby Leo is an incredible addition the Special Care Nursery at Lismore Base Hospital", Ms Battista said.
There NAB Corporate Challenge and the NAB Community Challenge will comprise a leader board to further promote our fundraisers. Merchandise will also be available.
"The NAB team are proud to be the Darrel Chapman Fun Run naming sponsor, and our staff love to be involved and volunteer at this event," Nigel Rumble, Business Banking Executive, NAB, said.
"This year we are really excited to be able to gather again but also continue a virtual element to help the Northern Rivers community get behind and support Our Kids."
Darrel Chapman, husband, father, distinguished academic and sporting legend, lost his own personal battle with cancer in October 1992.
Having been both a keen sports person and respected sports administrator, Darrel was a much loved and highly regarded member of the Australian sporting community.
