NOTHERN RIVERS SALES OF THE WEEK
Demand for hinterland property in the Byron Shire remains red hot, with a home at Eureka taking out the top price for the region this week. 106 Eureka Rd sold prior to auction for $2.6 million - which was $200,000 above the price guide. The 2.61 ha property 12 minutes drive from Bangalow is bordered by a picturesque creek and has a four bedroom pavilion-style timber home and pool. Adriano Talone at Elders Bangalow made the sale.
It's often said property is tightly held in Evans Head, and in Bundjalung Rd, a private little street close to the river and surrounded by National Park, that couldn't be truer - the last time a property was offered for sale on the scenic street was way back in 2010. It's no surprise, then, that there was plenty of interest when 3 Bundjalung Rd hit the market last month, and that it set a new street record when it sold at the weekend for $1.23 million. David Mason at First National Evans Head was the agent.
A SWEET LIFE IN BROADWATER
Known for its huge sugar mill, Broadwater, on the Richmond River, is one of the little towns that was bypassed by the Pacific Highway late last year.
Less than half an hour to Ballina and close to the coast, it's set for some big growth in the next few years, with the Saccharo Coastal Living subdivision adding a total of of 68 new home sites to the town. Stage One, which included 16 sites, has already sold out, and the next release is due in 2022.
A few minutes drive out of town, a secluded 15 acre block just out of Broadwater took the top price for the Lismore LGA this week, selling for $850,000. Luke Turner at First National Evans Head was the selling agent.
