The Quad, Until May 6

Starting at the Quad in Lismore, where you can collect audio players and headphones, this immersive audio walk will take you around the Lismore CBD while listening to the personal accounts of ten people who were directly affected or helped with the rescue and recovery after the town's devastating 2017 flood. Created by local audio documentary maker Jeanti St Clair, its powerful first hand stories include that of the local fire and rescue captain who sounded the evacuation siren and a mum who was trapped by floodwaters with her three-year-old son. LEARN TO MAKE COMPOST

Lismore Recycling and Resource Recovery Centre,  May 8, 9am - 12pm

To coincide with International Composting Awareness Week (May 2-8) Lismore City Council and North East Waste are hosting a morning of workshops at the Resource and Recovery Centre this Saturday. Learn how to make your own compost bin, the basics of home composting effectively and how to then use your compost to nourish your plants. There'll also be a beeswax wrap workshop, with all materials supplied to make our own wrap to take home. Children's activities include storytelling from Jenny Cargill-Strong, helping with the beeswax wraps, designing calico bags and mini tours of the surrounding Rainforest Botanic Gardens. Described as 'a night of rock 'n' roll and tales from the tube' legendary film maker Jack McCoy's Surf Talk and Jam will feature a mix of story-telling, and never before seen film clips and photographs from McCoy's 45-year career that has produced 25 multiple award winning feature films. McCoy will be joined by special guests Derek Hynd, Dion Agius and Dave Rastovich who will share their journey to the top of the surfing world.
