$5000 raised for mental health service

It's a swim for life

EARLY morning starts are not the norm for Halie Walsh, but last month she was in the pool and swimming laps every day at 7am sharp.

The Ballina RSL chef and a group of friends swam every morning in March as part of the Laps For Life challange, a fundraiser for online mental health service ReachOut.

The service supports young people and their families with practical support, tools and tips to help them get through anything from everyday issues to tough times.

Between them, the group swam 2540 laps - or 127km- and raised almost $5000.

Every member of Halie's Seahorses swim team exceeded their personal lap goals. Between the 10 of them they swam a massive 127km. The team thanks everyone for their donations.
