After a hiatus due to COVID in 2020, Casino's beloved Beef Week will be back this year.

Organisers have announced the event will run from May 22- June 1, with a program of more than 100 activities. The theme this year is 'Local Heroes', which was carried over from the cancelled event last year.

"The theme was chosen on the back of a horrendous bush fire season and a strong desire to recognise our emergency services. Little did we know that 2020 would bring with it even more local heroes - nurses, grocery store employees, teachers and an array of people who kept businesses going and our community safe," organisers say.

Entries are now open for one of Beef Week's signature events, the 2021 NCMC Casino Beef Week Queen. Local woman aged 18-25 who are passionate about the Richmond Valley and rural life in regional NSW are invited to nominate to become an ambassador for the region. Entry forms are available at casinobeefweek.com.au. Entries close April 29.
