THE Gold Coast Titans and New Zealand Warriors were forced to settle for a 12-all draw in the NRL trial game at Oakes Oval, Lismore tonight.

New recruit Tino Fa'asuamaleaui was dangerous early and ran over 30m to score the opening try of the game.

Ballina product Brian Kelly had some nice touches and set fullback AJ Brimson up for the first linebreak of the game.

The Titans led 12-0 before the Warriors fought back scoring its first try just before the halftime break.

They were on the ropes in the final 10 minutes but the Titans failed to land the knockout blow.

About 4750 people turned out for the game with tickets selling out this morning.

There would have been more spectators but the crowd had restricted numbers under COVID-19 protocols.

It was the first time an NRL trial game had been played at Lismore since 2009.
