WET weather, rough seas and plenty of wind has seen the past week of fishing tough for most.
The Jew fishing in the area has been spectacular for the past few days and looks to continue with the rougher weather.
The best session we have seen is 10+ fish, up to 12kgs!
Our customers were fishing a mix of live bait and lures to get this great catch.
In the lure department, Croakers have been doing the most damage with JAZ Jew lures coming a close second.
North Wall at the dog leg, blue light and the very end have been productive on both lures and bait.
We need to remind everyone to be overly cautious and aware while fishing these spots.
We recommend rock gripper boots, fishing with at least one other person and most importantly, wear a lifejacket.
Although not mandatory, it is highly recommended.
Crabbing has been great with North Creek the pick of the areas. Fresh baits like mullet and mullet frames are best.
Please make sure you are aware of the restrictions on gear 'seaside' of the ferry.
We have many customers not knowing the rules.
Crab pots/traps are not allowed and fisher people are only permitted to use dillie's/withes hats in these areas. The pick of the bunch are Hayes pots, they are classed as dillie's and are easier to fish than pots.
Keep the pics coming in to firstname.lastname@example.org for the Hooked on Bait Junior Angler of the week competition.
Please make sure the pictures are in high resolution and landscape orientation.
From all the team at Hooked on Brewing Bait BBQ have a great week
