THE sale of the Lennox Hotel has created plenty of mixed opinions across social media.
Former bachelorette winner Stu Laundy and pub operator Fraser Short purchased the Hotel for $40m.
Brothers Clyde and Greg Campbell have owned the pub since 2005 when they bought from developer Chris Condon for 14 million.
There have been plenty of comments from an online article posted by realcommercial.com.au and on the Lennox Head Community page.
"With a view like that hopefully they finally make a large beer garden! That place has immense potential!!!" Mary Lee said.
"Good, hopefully they'll make it nice. It's such a prime location but so dark & dingy with the only outdoor area that gross smoking area. I never go there..." Jessie Graham said.
"Would be amazing if it could be like the Kingscliff pub... all outdoor and family friendly over looking the ocean," Nina Westover-Jones said.
"Fantastic news. Thankful that some good people bought it. Fraser Short owns the Balcony and The Farm. Employs stacks of locals and does great things for local charities etc without the bullsh** self promotion that others choose to participate in," Kirra Pendergast said.
Some residents are more sceptical on what it will mean for the town.
"As if we care. People in Lennox, or the ones I know, aren't impressed. We just take people how they are not who they are, and God help us we don't want to become another Byron," Carole Mcgoo said.
"There goes The Hemsworths. Too much publicity now." Haydon Burford said.
"Such a great pub with fantastic food, don't change it!!" Sandra McMahon said.
"Good pub will be turned into a hipster den," Chris Knight said.
Meanwhile, Lismore will finally have its newest pub when the Sherwood Hotel opens next month.
